Australia: lanciano l’SOS su Facebook

Si evolvono gli utilizzi dei social network, ed arrivano fino all’impossibile. Mai si è pensato di arrivare all’utilizzo di un network tipo Facebook per fare una segnalazione di allarme, ed invece è successo proprio in Australia.

Insieme allo scontro che divide da un bel po’ nel Paese oceanico gli oppositori ed i sostenitori di queste piattaforme, arriva oggi un caso di cronaca che risulta alquanto singolare. Due bambine australiane rispettivamente di 10 e di 12 anni, dopo essere rimaste intrappolate in una fogna, hanno inviato il proprio SOS, invece che con una chiamata alle Forze dell’Ordine locali, attraverso il proprio profilo di Facebook.

Invece di fare un numero di emergenza dal cellulare, si sono collegate ad Internet, loggate su Facebook e pubblicato una richiesta d’aiuto.
Partite per una escursione alquanto particolare nelle fognature, le due bambine, si sono perse girando tra gli “identici” condotti fognari della propria città. Un loro amichetto che era on line al momento, ha letto la richiesta di aiuto ed ha immediatamente contattato i vigili del fuoco per poter permettere la liberazione di queste due esploratrici in erba.
I vigili del fuoco, hanno anche comunicato il loro dissenso a questo tipo di SOS, visto che una telefonata classica, avrebbe portato ad un intervento sicuramente più rapido che sarebbe stato importante per la salvaguardia delle due bambine. Questo caso, continua a fomentare la guerra accesa (anche dal punto di vista politico) in Australia contro i social network, che prepotentemente stanno prendendo parte della vita umana.

A detta di Terry Flew, professore della Queensland University of Technology, la rete sociale di Facebook è ormai talmente integrata nella vita di ognuno che ogni utente, ne fa un mezzo di comunicazione primario nelle proprie scelte.

Una storia terminata con un lieto fine, per la gioia dei genitori delle due impavide bambine, che avrebbe potuto cadere nel tragico, visto che il numero degli amici delle due ragazzine era limitato e che solo fortunatamente un amichetto si trovava connesso in quel determinato momento per leggere il loro SOS.

  5. Today, I went to the beachfront with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is completely off topic but I had to tell someone!
