La social network mania continua a spopolare sul web senza sentire nemmeno di riflesso gli effetti della crisi economica. Di conseguenza, essendo un mezzo così popolare ed allo stesso tempo di semplice funzionalità per tutti, si potrebbe pensare di utilizzarlo per coinvolgere in iniziative per tutta la comunità. Nel mondo, tra le iniziative che più vengono avviate in ambito di social network, sicuramente ci sono quelle dedicate alla salvaguardia dell’ambiente.
Una nuova sfida lanciata dal Web 2.0 di recente, è la salvaguardia della foresta pluviale che è a rischio deforestazione. Gli attivisti ambientalisti, per raccogliere adesioni basate su questa nuova sfida, si stanno servendo delle risorse on line e soprattutto dei social network.

Proprio a questo scopo, hanno annunciato in un comunicato stampa, la creazione di un vero e proprio social network che si chiama Team Earth, per permettere la collaborazione di più utenti. A farne parte sono aziende, organizzazioni (non governative), studenti, politici ed idealisti che tutti insieme lotteranno per un obiettivo comune: cioè porre rimedio alla deforestazione della foresta tropicale.

Questo social network verrà lanciato pubblicamente nel mese di Novembre 2009, ma per i suoi creatori, è stato quasi “obbligatorio” lanciare adesso l’annuncio, sia per far cominciare a smuovere le coscienze sociali dei cittadini, sia perchè in occasione dell’incontro a New York tra i leader del pianeta nella partecipazione all’Assemblea generale delle Nazioni Unite si potrebbe parlare dell’argomento.

Il fine molto nobile proposto da questa iniziativa, vuole sensibilizzare la pubblica opinione su questo problema che continua ad affliggere la salute del nostro pianeta.
