Verrebbe da gridare “vergogna”, ma sono tantissime le celebrità presenti su Twitter che usano questo social network in maniera egoistica, limitandosi cioè a dare notizie sulla loro attività ma senza dimostrare interesse per le news degli altri iscritti, senza nemmeno ricambiare il follow dei fan. Naturalmente ci sono anche le eccezioni.

I quattro utenti più popolari di Twitter – Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Barack Obama e Britney Spears – hanno collettivamente oltre 38 milioni di followers. E nel complesso seguono circa 1.370 mila persone, cioè una persona ogni 27 utenti. Ma quella che può sembrare una percentuale molto bassa, in realtà è un grande segno di rispetto, se paragoniamo le cifre a quelle di altri vip di Twitter che non seguono nessun utente. E’ curioso che tre dei primi cinque vip (Eminem, Kanye West e Rev Run) sono musicisti, per la precisione rappers, e nessuno di loro si è mai preoccupato di ricambiare un follow. Eppure dovrebbero perché Twitter sembra favorire l’ascesa di chi fa musica. A tale proposito vale la pena ricordare che Lady Gaga ci ha messo più di un anno prima di cominciare a seguire altre persone. Ma da quel momento è diventata la popstar più popolare del social network. Merito della sua musica, naturalmente, ma non bisogna sottovalutare l’importanza di coinvolgere il pubblico e di chattare con i fan.
